Kyle Harrison Strikes Out Five In Win
9 months agoSan Francisco Giants starter Kyle Harrison pitched six innings Friday, giving up six hits and two earned runs, but he didn't walk a batter and struck out five on the way to earning a win in his first start of the 2024 season. Harrison threw 54 of his 76 pitches for strikes, which was great to see from someone who is known for his strikeout ability but also for some command issues during his time in the minor leagues. Two of the hits were home runs (Machado, Tatis) and he gave up eight long balls last season in 34 2/3 IP at the major league level, which makes limiting the walks all that more important going forward. The southpaw likely gets the Dodgers next.
