Kyle Freeland Dominates Miami

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland impressed in his first Opening Day start as he shut down the Marlins for seven innings. Miami managed just one run and two hits against Freeland as Colorado cruised to the victory. Freeland also struck out five while only walking one, though he also contributed a throwing error and hit batsman to make the seventh inning a little more exciting for himself. In the long run, it was a great first showing for Freeland even if it came against a glorified Triple-A squad. Freeland is still a concern due to his ugly combination of a poor ground-ball rate and a below average strikeout rate, but a new year will have to show whether he's got anything new up his sleeve.
