K'Waun Williams Agrees To Stay With 49ers
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers nickel cornerback K'Waun Williams, who recently visited with the Kansas City Chiefs, agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal to remain with the 49ers on Wednesday, according to a source. Williams also drew interest from the New York Jets. His career took off after joining the Niners in 2017, winning the job as the team's primary slot cornerback within a month. The 29-year-old played in only eight games last year due to knee and ankle injuries, though, recording 22 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Williams has played in 51 games and has tallied 172 tackles, three interceptions and four sacks in his four seasons with San Francisco. The 49ers focused on retaining their own free agents this offseason, also re-signing left tackle Trent Williams, fullback Kyle Juszczyk and cornerback Jason Verrett.
