Kristaps Porzingis Traded To Boston
1 year agoThe Boston Celtics are set to officially acquire Kristaps Porzingis in a three-way trade involving the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies. The big move initially involved the Clippers, but the deal fell apart and the Celtics quickly found another team to work with Wednesday, as they were desperate to get the trade done before the deadline for Porzingis' $36 million player option dropped at midnight. Sources have told ESPN that he opted in. The Latvian is now expected to sign an extension with Boston once he's eligible to do so next month. Marcus Smart, Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala departed Boston in the trade, with the Celtics also bagging a pair of first-round picks. Getting Porzingis is a major coup for the team, but his fantasy value definitely takes a hit with this due to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown dominating the Celtics offense.
