The Philadelphia Flyers have traded center Kevin Hayes to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round draft pick. The Flyers will retain 50% of Hayes' salary, leaving the Blues with a $3.57 million cap hit on Hayes for the next three seasons. The two-way pivot collected 18 goals and 54 points across 81 games for the Flyers last season while recording a solid 50.6% Corsi For% for a Flyers team that struggled in puck possession. The Blues have a need at the center-ice position after they traded Ryan O'Reilly to the Toronto Maple Leafs at last season's trade deadline as Hayes should slide into a third-line center role on the Blues' depth chart behind Robert Thomas and Brayden Schenn.--Brenton Kemp
