Kenny Pickett Dealing With Mild Concussion?
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett (head) entered the league's concussion protocol in Week 14 in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens and didn't return to the contest. "After the first series, he was evaluated and cleared," head coach Mike Tomlin said. Tomlin also said that Pickett was continually evaluated afterward, and after the next series it was determined that he could not continue. The NFL isn't taking any chances with head injuries this year, so it's not a surprise that Pickett didn't return. The 24-year-old will have to pass through the protocol this week in order to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. If he isn't cleared, Mitch Trubisky will make the start on Sunday. In his first action since Week 6, Trubisky went 22-for-30 for 276 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in relief of Pickett.
