Kendrys Morales Traded To Yankees
6 years agoThe New York Yankees have traded for Oakland Athletics designated hitter Kendrys Morales and cash considerations in exchange for a player-to-be-named or cash, the Yankees announced Tuesday night. Morales was designated for assignment Monday. He had no place on the A's roster with the recent return of Matt Olson, combined with only a .204 average, just one home run, and seven runs batted in. The switch-hitting Morales should benefit from a shift to a smaller park in Yankee Stadium. Regardless, he's nothing but an AL-only option, while carrying some DFS value for the power potential. To make room for the 35-year-old, the Yankees transferred Jonathan Loaisiga to the 60-day IL.
