5 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Kendrys Morales has been released after clearing unconditional waivers. Morales was designated for assignment last week and clearly the Yankees were unable to find a suitor for the 36-year-old. He last appeared in a game on June 11 before being placed on the injured list with a calf injury. This might spell the beginning of the end for the former sluggers career, as he was hitting just .194 with two home runs and 12 RBI over 170 at-bats this season. Even if he would get picked up by someone, he could be easily avoided in fantasy leagues.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
