Kadarius Toney, Isiah Pacheco Won't Play In Preseason Opener
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (knee) and running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) will not play in the team's preseason opener on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Both players have been nursing injuries in training camp, so this shouldn't be any real surprise. The good news is that both Toney and Pacheco are expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season on Sept. 7 against the Detroit Lions. Toney tore his meniscus in the first practice of camp, while Pacheco is recovering from offseason surgeries on his hand and shoulder. If healthy, Toney is expected to be a top receiving target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, while Pacheco is expected to be KC's primary backfield option after taking over starting duties as a rookie in 2022.
