Justus Sheffield Unlikely To Help Fantasy Owners In 2018
7 years agoDespite being a top-100 prospect, New York Yankees starting pitcher Justus Sheffield is unlikely to make an impact for fantasy owners in 2018. Along with outfielder Clint Frazier, Sheffield was one of the main pieces to comeback from the Indians in the Andrew Miller deal in 2016. Sheffield has a strong upside and the left-hander should eventually grade out as a starting pitcher in the big leagues, it is just unlikely that it will happen in 2018. The left-hander has yet to pitch in Triple-A but is going to start there this season. The Yankees have rotation depth and no reason to rush Sheffield at this point. There is a chance that he can be a September call-up, but even if that is the case, he likely won't make an impact in mixed leagues. For owners in dynasty and keeper leagues, now is the time to own him as he should be able to make an impact by 2019.
