Justin Turner Agrees With Red Sox
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox and free-agent third baseman Justin Turner agreed to a two-year deal worth just under $22 million on Sunday, according to sources. The 38-year-old Turner is expected to spend most of his time at designated hitter or first base with Rafael Devers locked in at the hot corner. It's an end of an era for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as Turner had spent the last nine years in LA. Turner will help make up for the loss of J.D. Martinez, who ironically signed with the Dodgers on Saturday. Turner's power was way down in his final season with the Blue, as he posted just 13 home runs and a .438 slugging percentage in 128 games. He lands in a good environment at Fenway Park and in the hitter-friendly American League East, but fantasy managers should expect more diminished power along with a useful average and on-base percentage.
