1 year agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Justin Dunn (shoulder) threw a side session on Tuesday that manager David Bell said went well. Dunn has been targeted to have his first live batting practice session against hitters on Aug. 8, with a minor-league rehab assignment expected by Aug. 19. He has endured shoulder issues in each of the past two seasons and has been sidelined since spring training because of soreness in the subscapularis muscle in his right rotator cuff. There's a chance that the 27-year-old starter will be back with the Reds in the final month of the regular season in September, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues shouldn't get their hopes up. Dunn made seven starts for Cincy in 2022 and had a 6.10 ERA (8.31 FIP) and 1.58 WHIP in 31 innings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
