Julio Rodriguez Finishes Season By Clearing The Fences
2 years agoSeattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez put a cap on an impressive first MLB season on Wednesday by going 1-for-2 with his 28th home run and a run scored in the 5-4 win over the visiting Detroit Tigers. Rodriguez led off the game with a solo home run and will get to play in the postseason in his first major-league season with the Mariners set to take on the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend in the American League Wild-Card Series. Going into the postseason, the 21-year-old is riding a five-game hitting streak in which he's gone 8-for-16 with a homer, two RBI and four runs scored. In his first MLB regular season, J-Rod hit .284/.345/.509 with an .853 OPS, 28 home runs, 75 RBI, 84 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 511 at-bats.
