2 years agoSeattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez (back) was activated from the injured list and is serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff on Monday against the Detroit Tigers and right-hander Bryan Garcia. The Mariners will ease Rodriguez back into action with just three regular season games left before the postseason. The 21-year-old has been as advertised in his first major-league season, slashing an impressive .280/.342/.502 with an .844 OPS, 27 home runs, 73 RBI, 81 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 500 at-bats. Seattle will be hoping that he can pick up where he left off as the club gets ready for a postseason appearance in 2022 later this week. In 16 games last month before his injury, J-Rod was hitting .383 (23-for-60) with six homers, eight RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
