Josiah Gray To Join Dodgers Tuesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that pitching prospect Josiah Gray will be activated on Tuesday, and he's likely to make his major league debut against the San Francisco Giants. It's unknown if Gray will start the game or serve as a bulk reliever, but fantasy managers should temper expectations, as the 23-year-old right-hander has thrown just 15 2/3 innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City this year because of a shoulder injury. The team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has a nice 2.87 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 22/2 K/BB in his small minor league sample size this year. Gray gets plenty of swings and misses due to a exploding fastball with late-riding life, and he has mid-rotation upside eventually. He should be owned in dynasty leagues, but it's unlikely he'll do much for fantasy managers in redraft leagues, and there's a good chance he's sent back to the minors before long.
