Josh Bell Could See Some Time In The Outfield
3 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell, who has a .914 OPS since May 12, could start to play some left field, according to manager Dave Martinez. It would allow Bell and the slumping Ryan Zimmerman to be in the lineup together as the team looks to get Zimmerman back on track. Bell played 16 games in right field with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a rookie in 2016, so he does have a little bit of experience out there. It's unknown if Bell would play enough in the outfield to gain outfield eligibility for his fantasy managers, but that would be an added benefit to the 28-year-old's hot bat. He's batting .361 (13-for-36) with two home runs and nine RBI in the last two weeks to raise his season slash line to .249/.313/.459 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 256 plate appearances.
