Josh Bailey is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the Chicago Blackhawks placed him on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a buyout. The Blackhawks acquired Bailey from the New York Islanders on Thursday along with a second-round draft pick for future considerations. He had no future in New York and clearly wasn't seen as a fit in Chicago either. By getting rid of Bailey, the Islanders opened up $5 million of cap space. The veteran was a loyal servant for the Islanders, suiting up in 1,057 games for the team while posting 580 points, but his level of play dropped drastically last season and a divorce is probably the best for both parties.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
