2 years agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (elbow) is officially active for the Week 10 contest against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Allen suffered a UCL injury to his right elbow in the Week 9 loss to the New York Jets and didn't practice until Friday, but he's been given the green light to play this weekend. Multiple doctors told the team that the 26-year-old signal-caller can't do any more damage to his elbow by playing. When active, Allen is a must-start QB1 in fantasy, but playing at less than 100 percent knocks down his ceiling and floor a bit. With Allen hurting, there's a chance the Bills coaching staff leans more on the run against Minnesota, depending on game script.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoESPN's Dan Graziano writes that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who won the 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player award, could be looking for a new contract in the near future. He's scheduled to average around $32 million per year over the four remaining years on his current deal and just made $14.5 million this past season. The problem for Allen is that with four years still left on his current contract, the Bills are unlikely to be in any kind of rush to extend him. However, Graziano suggests the Bills could find some ways to adjust Allen's deal to bring him more in line with the QB market, much like the Kansas City Chiefs have done with superstar QB Patrick Mahomes since he signed his big deal in 2020. Despite falling short of the 4,000-yard passing mark for the first time since 2019, Allen threw 28 touchdowns and a career-low six picks and has 27 rushing TDs the last two years to finish as a top-five fantasy QB.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named Most Valuable Player for the 2024 NFL season on Thursday. Allen barely beat out Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson for the first MVP award of his career. Despite losing receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, the 28-year-old signal-caller got even better on his way to completing 64 percent of his pass attempts for 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and six interceptions in 17 regular-season games. The three-time Pro Bowler led the league with a 77.3 QBR and also added 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns on 102 rushing attempts for the Bills. Allen becomes the first Bills player to win the award since running back Thurman Thomas did so back in 1991. Allen's 12 rushing scores were second to only the Eagles' Jalen Hurts. He finished as the QB4 in overall fantasy points and will once again be one of the first QBs off the board in fantasy drafts this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (wrist) said on Monday that he's dealing with a wrist injury that he suffered on Sunday in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Allen suffered the injury at the goal line on the team's two-point-conversion attempt right before halftime. "Got crunched up a little bit, was able to finish the game, but some swelling and stuff today," Allen said. The 28-year-old's injury doesn't sound very serious, and he'll have all offseason to heal up after the season-ending loss on Sunday. He went 22-for-34 for 237 yards and two passing touchdowns in KC, also rushing 11 times for 39 yards. Despite finishing as a top-five QB yet again for fantasy managers during the regular season, Allen couldn't get over the hump in the postseason against the Chiefs and is now 0-4 against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 22 of his 34 pass attempts for 237 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also took two sacks and rushed 11 times for 39 yards on the ground. Finally, Allen fumbled three times, but he was fortunate that all three loose balls were scooped up by the Bills rather than a Chiefs defender. The MVP candidate played well in the contest, keeping his team in the game until the final seconds. However, it wasn't quite enough as the Chiefs picked up yet another playoff victory over Buffalo. Despite his season falling short of a Super Bowl berth, Allen has established himself as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. He should continue to be viewed as a top option heading into 2025 fantasy football drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
