Jose Urquidy To Face Live Hitters Tuesday
1 year agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Jose Urquidy (shoulder) is scheduled to face live hitters during a bullpen session on Tuesday. Urquidy will make the next step of facing live hitters after already throwing off a mound a few times as he attempts to return from right-shoulder inflammation that landed him on the injured list in early May. If the 28-year-old right-hander's session goes well on Tuesday, he could be cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment, but he isn't eligible to come off the injured list until after the All-Star break. Urquidy doesn't have nearly the same fantasy upside as the rest of Houston's starting pitchers, and he's gone 2-2 this year with a 5.20 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 23 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings over his six starts.
