Jose Siri Likely To Begin Rehab Assignment This Weekend
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri (hamstring) is likely headed to Triple-A Durham this weekend for a minor-league rehab assignment, and he could come off the injured list to rejoin the team sometime during the series against the Houston Astros, which begins on Monday, April 24. Siri has been out since landing on the 10-day injured list on April 8 with a strained right hamstring, but he had a solid workout on Wednesday and is on the cusp of returning to the big-league lineup. Before his injury, the 27-year-old outfielder had gone 7-for-22 (.318) with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, one stolen base and five runs scored in his first six games played. Siri should be a lineup regular when he's back, so make sure to scoop him off the waiver wire if he was dropped by his previous owner.
