Jose Altuve Injures His Leg Friday
1 year agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve (leg) left Friday's game early after only one inning against the New York Yankees with a left-leg contusion. Altuve went 0-for-1 in his only plate appearance of the contest and was replaced by Mauricio Dubon at the keystone. Altuve injured himself fouling a ball off his left and was seen limping off the field. The 33-year-old All-Star will likely undergo X-rays, but until we know more, consider him day-to-day and check back to see if he's available to play on Saturday. If he's forced to miss extended time or go on the injured list, Dubon will become the regular at the keystone for Houston. It's been an injury-filled year in 2023 for Altuve, but when he's been on the field he's been great, as he came into Friday's game hitting .313 (79-for-252) with 10 homers, 34 RBI, 13 steals and 57 runs in 64 games.
