Jose Altuve Homers In Rout Of Padres
1 year agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 12-2 beatdown of the visiting San Diego Padres. The home run was the 16th of the season for the pint-sized Altuve, and he now has gone deep an impressive six times in just eight games so far in September while also going 10-for-33 (.303) with eight RBI and nine runs scored. The 2023 season has been one filled with injuries for the 33-year-old All-Star, but he hasn't missed a beat offensively when he's been on the field. Altuve is currently hitting .312/.398/.551 with a .948 OPS, 16 homers, 42 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 285 at-bats. He's a must-start when he's in Houston's lineup.
