Jordan Walker Lands on 10-Day Injured List With Wrist Inflammation
Jordan Walker (wrist) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 29) with left-wrist inflammation and selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Ryan Vilade from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. The team also recalled right-hander Roddery Munoz from Memphis and optioned right-hander Gordon Graceffo to Memphis. Not only was Walker underwhelming at the plate again, but now he's on the shelf and might not be ready to return when he's eligible in the middle of May. Once one of St. Louis' top prospects, the 23-year-old former 21st overall pick in 2020 is currently slashing just .215/.273/.310 with only three home runs, 23 RBI, 18 runs and three stolen bases in 158 at-bats. Walker might find himself on the bench more when he's back from his injury. Alec Burleson could become the team's regular right fielder now.
