Jordan Romano Picks Up Save on Thursday
Jordan Romano threw a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. Romano did not allow a hit while striking out two to pick up his sixth save of the season. The veteran hurler has had a rough season in 2025, posting a 0-1 record, 6.87 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts over 18 1/3 innings of work. That being said, he is expected to get the bulk of the save chances after the team's closer, Jose Alvarado, was suspended for 80 games earlier in the week for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. Romano is worth a speculative add in fantasy leagues if you're desperate for saves.
