Jordan Hicks 2020 Outlook: Undervalued Linebacker With A Safe Floor
5 years agoLinebacker is one of the Cardinals Defense's strengths, and Jordan Hicks is a big part of that after he tallied 150 tackles (93 solo), 11 tackles for loss, seven QB hits, three interceptions, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 16 starts in his first year in the desert. That was good enough for the fourth-most fantasy points in standard IDP scoring. The former third-round pick of the Eagles spent three years in Philadelphia before coming over to Arizona, where he truly broke out in 2019. With first-round do-it-all Isaiah Simmons likely to help covering tight ends and rushing the passer, Hicks could become even more effective in 2020 against the run. The lack of sacks (6.5 in five seasons) hurts his overall upside, but Hicks should be considered a top-15 IDP linebacker just on his tackling skills alone.
