Jonnu Smith To Be Used As RB This Week?
3 years agoThe New England Patriots aren't sure if they'll have running backs Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, who are both in the league's concussion protocol, available for Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns. The Patriots also have Brandon Bolden and J.J. Taylor as options in the backfield, but if both Harris and Stevenson are inactive, New England could also turn to tight end Jonnu Smith to help spark the ground game. Smith has been used as an RB by the Patriots and his former team, the Tennessee Titans, on occasion, seeing 10 rushing attempts over the last three seasons. The Patriots have been willing to use Smith creatively, and he has ranked in the top three among TEs in yards after the catch in the previous two seasons. It's fun to think about, but it's unlikely that he would see enough touches to be worth the gamble as a TE2 sleeper against Cleveland.
