Jon Gray Tames Diamondbacks
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray logged a solid quality start on Wednesday as he only allowed one earned run in six innings of work. Gray bounced back well from his botched relief job over the weekend and struck out four while walking two and allowing six hits. Unfortunately, Gray is another one of the Colorado pitchers that is just too unpredictable to be depended on, even if he still flashes moments of brilliance and has that attractive 9.66 K/9. In his last four starts, Gray has racked up two quality starts and two starts with eight or more strikeouts, but each set was a different pair of appearances. He's a valid streamer and decent pitcher in deep leagues, but for now, he's just not trustworthy day in and day out.
