John Wall Hits Game-Winner In Overtime
6 years agoWashington Wizards point guard John Wall came through in the clutch, banking in a game-winning mid-range jump shot in overtime against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, the clutch jumper masked just how awful Wall was on Monday night. He shot an atrocious 5-for-19 from the field and an equally bad 6-for-11 from the charity stripe. Wall did contribute in other areas to make up for the poor shooting, with nine assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 41 minutes. The Kentucky product was really good in the first two games, so owners should not be concerned about this relative dud. Nonetheless, Wall will need to get on track from downtown, as he’s just 1-for-12 from the three-point line this season after shooting a career-high 37.1 percent from there last season. Wall will look to bounce back when he takes on fellow all-star point guard Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at Oracle on Wednesday night.
