Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares focused on the task at hand on Wednesday night, scoring a goal with an assist and seven shots on net in 17:40 of ice time in a 6-2 victory against the Edmonton Oilers. The multi-point performance came on the eve of his first trip back to Long Island to face the New York Islanders, and a raucous, angry crowd is expected to greet him. Tavares has scored in back-to-back games, and three of the past four, and he has six goals and 14 points across the past 12 contests.
