Joey Wiemer Making Another Start Against Mets
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Joey Wiemer is making his third straight start on Monday against right-hander Carlos Carrasco and the New York Mets. Wiemer is starting in right field and batting ninth in the lineup. He continues to hit at the bottom of the Brew Crew's batting order, but the 24-year-old youngster has held his own so far in two games by going 2-for-7 with a double, a run scored and two strikeouts. With Luis Urias (hamstring) on the injured list, Wiemer will be playing every day, at least for the short term, so he's worth looking into in mixed leagues for his power/speed combination. Don't expect a high batting average early on, but the team's No. 3-ranked prospect could make some noise.
