Joey Logano Turns His Day Around At The End
2 years agoJoey Logano did not start the NOCO 400 the way he would have liked. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford had to start at the back of the field after qualifying 15th. The team had to make a post-qualifying adjustment to a leak in the water tank. With passing at a premium at Martinsville, Logano did all he could, managing to have an average running position of 20.95. But then luck turned for Logano on Lap 303. When the caution came out for Anthony Alfredo, Logano was just one of 11 cars on the lead lap before the free pass and wave-arounds. Then, on what would be the final caution on Lap 343 for JJ Yeley, Paul Wolfe, Logano's crew chief, made the call to stay on the track. This decision put Logano in the lead. He could not hold off Kyle Larson for the lead but was thrilled to end the day as the runner-up after starting the day dead-last.
