Joey Gallo Homers In Fifth Straight Game
3 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo homered in his fifth straight game in an 8-3 win over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday. Gallo now has seven long balls in the last five games and has reached base multiple times in each of his last five games as well. Along with his two-run homer on Thursday, he hit two singles, walked and reached base safely four times. The left-handed slugger hit nine combined home runs in April and May combined. But since the beginning of June, Gallo has been one of the hottest hitters in the league, smashing 11 round-trippers. He became the first Rangers player to homer in five straight games since Mike Napoli did it in 2012. The 27-year-old has a tendency to go on red-hot stretches like this, and his fantasy managers are surely enjoying it while it lasts. Gallo is now up to 19 homers and 43 RBI on the year and has chipped in six stolen bases for good measure.
