Detroit Red Wings defenseman Joe Hicketts picked up two assists on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. In only his second NHL game, Hicketts recorded his first points, the first of which was on the power play. With Detroit’s season effectively over, they have started to give younger players more opportunities, which opened the door for Hicketts to play on the top power-play unit against Pittsburgh. Hicketts also recorded a game-high six blocks, but zero shots on goal. It was a promising game for the rookie Red Wing, but nothing that should cause much stir in fantasy circles. It is possible that Hicketts grabs a role on the power play next year, but Detroit will have to improve on its poor power-play conversion rate (17.4 percent) for that to mean much.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBallerRead More News
