Jimmy Garoppolo Out At Least Six Weeks
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) aggravated his high right ankle sprain in the Week 8 loss to the Seahawks and is expected to miss at least six weeks and possibly longer if surgery is required, according to a source. If Garoppolo requires surgery, it's likely that he'll miss the rest of the season. He appeared to tweak his ankle early in the game on Sunday but played through it and wasn't removed until the fourth quarter. Jimmy G went 11-for-16 for just 84 yards and an interception for a passer rating of 55.2 before leaving. Nick Mullens, who looked good in relief of Garoppolo against Seattle, is likely to take over as the starter for as long as Garoppolo is out. He'll be a QB2 in superflex leagues against Green Bay on Thursday night.
