2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the plan remains for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) to be available late in the playoffs. Garoppolo is able to put some weight on his still-healing fractured left foot. A return to the NFC Championship game is the most realistic option for the Niners, assuming they are able to make it that deep into the postseason with rookie Brock Purdy under center. If Purdy is able to lead the 49ers to the NFC title game, there's still no guarantee that they'd choose Garoppolo over the rookie, especially since he hasn't played since Week 13. In 11 games (10 starts) before breaking his foot, Jimmy G had a 67.2% completion percentage, 2,437 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
