Jets Sign Gabriel Vilardi To Two-Year Deal
1 year agoWinnipeg Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi has agreed a two-year extension with the team, avoiding an arbitration hearing as a restricted free agent, which was set for July 28. The 23-year-old received a pact worth $6.875 million in total, which gives him a cap hit of around $3.45 million for the next couple of seasons. The 2023-24 campaign will mark Vilardi's debut season as a Jet after the Kings moved him last month in a trade involving Pierre-Luc Dubois. He's looking to build on a career-best year. However, it is worth noting that Vilardi bagged 13 of his 41 points last season during a red-hot October and he might not be able to replicate the same productivity in the upcoming season. The former first-round pick has tallied 41 goals and 78 points in 152 career games overall in the NHL.
