Jesse Chavez Sees Scoreless Streak Snapped
6 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jesse Chavez allowed an earned run, two hits and two walks while retiring just one batter in a relief loss Wednesday in Boston. As such, his streak of 18 consecutive scoreless appearances came to a close. It wasn't like he was hit hard, as he allowed a bloop single and two walks in the outing. He managed to throw just six of his 17 pitches for strikes, as walks have been a problem over his past two appearances. Still, he has re-emerged as a decent fantasy option in deeper AL-only leagues which use true middle relievers for his holds, solid ERA and improving WHIP.
