Jeimer Candelario Returns On Monday
11 months agoWashington Nationals third baseman Jeimer Candelario (thumb) is back at third base and is hitting third in the batting order on Monday against St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Jack Flaherty. Candelario suffered a bone bruise in his thumb on Saturday and didn't play on Sunday, but he'll wind up only missing one game over the weekend. The 29-year-old former Detroit Tiger has been sluggish with the lumber so far in June, going 10-for-46 (.217) with six doubles, one home run, five RBI, a stolen base and seven runs scored so far in 13 games played. However, he is currently on a three-game hitting streak in which he's gone 6-for-12 (.500) with four doubles and a stolen base.
