Jeff McNeil Has Partial UCL Tear
1 year agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil (elbow) said he will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection to help the partial tear of the UCL in his left elbow. McNeil was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday, which will end his 2023 season. He and the Mets aren't considering surgery right now, and manager Buck Showalter should be good to go for spring training next year. The 31-year-old's health is one to watch over the winter, and if his injection doesn't fix the issue, he could eventually require surgery that could keep him out for the majority of the 2024 campaign. The two-time All-Star finishes his sixth year with the Mets by hitting .270 (158-for-585) with 10 home runs, 25 doubles, four triples, 55 RBI, a career-high 10 stolen bases and 75 runs scored in 156 games played.
