Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter (lower body) will sit out Tuesday's contest against Boston. He is nursing a lower-body injury since getting hurt in Saturday's loss to Seattle. Pittsburgh plays again Wednesday versus Buffalo, so it's possible Carter sits out multiple games. The veteran has enjoyed some good form this season, getting two goals and four assists in nine outings. Based on the morning skate, it looks like Carter will give up the third-line center spot to Drew O'Connor, who will make his season debut on Tuesday. He has managed six points in eight AHL appearances this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
