Javonte Williams Held In Check By Washington

Denver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams had nine carries (one fewer than Melvin Gordon) for 35 yards (3.9 yards per carry) in the 17-10 Week 8 win over the Washington Football Team. Williams also caught two of his four targets for an additional 13 yards, but he was held out of the end zone on the day while Gordon scored Denver's only two touchdowns. It was a disappointing day for Williams after he had his first career receiving score in Week 7, but he once again out-targeted Gordon in the passing game and only had two fewer overall touches than his backfield teammate. We keep hearing about the rookie's big-play upside, but his fantasy ceiling will continue to be capped with Gordon sharing half of the touches.
