Javon Wims Drops Easy Touchdown In Loss
4 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Javon Wims caught only one pass for 28 yards in the Bears 21-9 loss to the Saints in the wild-card round. Wims was thrust into action with rookie Darnell Mooney out with an ankle injury, and the 26-year-old receiver almost came up with a game-changing play. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky took a shovel pass from running back David Montgomery and launched a perfect pass to the end zone, an easy touchdown that Wims dropped. The third-year receiver was ejected from the team's Week 8 matchup against the Saints, and the score could have atoned for his undisciplined mistake. But Wims and the Bears let this one slip through their fingers, and the fringe receiver's return to the team next season will be up in the air moving forward.
