Jarren Duran Being Rested Against Southpaw
1 year agoThe Boston Red Sox will give outfielder Jarren Duran a day off on Wednesday with the team taking on Washington Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Rob Refsnyder will draw into the lineup in left field and will bat leadoff for Boston in Duran's absence. The 26-year-old left-handed-hitting Duran has been solid against lefties with a .289 average (13-for-45), but he has just one of his eight home runs against them in 2023. Overall, Duran has broken out in his third MLB season in Beantown, as he's slashing .297/.348/.488 with an .835 OPS, eight home runs, 33 doubles, two triples, 40 RBI, 23 stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 98 games and 348 plate appearances. He should be back in the team's starting lineup for the series finale on Thursday against the Nats.
