Washington Nationals pitching prospect Jarlin Susana (elbow) has been placed on the seven-day minor-league injured list with a Grade 1 UCL sprain. The team believes he's avoided a major injury that would require Tommy John surgery, but he'll be shut down from throwing and be re-evaluated in two weeks. The Nats' second-ranked prospect has a 4.15 ERA for Double-A Harrisburg, but a 16.4 percent walk rate takes some of the shine off of the righty's 31.1 percent strikeout rate, leading to an ugly 1.69 WHIP. Still, if the 6-foot-6 hurler can rein in some of the walks, he possesses a triple-digit fastball and a devastating slider that makes him an intriguing future fantasy asset. Assuming he won't require surgery, the 21-year-old is expected to make his big-league debut in 2026.
