Jared Spurgeon Makes Season Debut On Friday
1 year agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon (upper body) will make his season debut in Friday's matchup against Buffalo. The Wild captain sustained an upper-body injury in a preseason game against Chicago, but he's good to go now and has been activated from long-term Injured Reserve. The team initially did well despite his absence, but recent weeks have been tough for Minnesota, so this should be a big boost for the squad. Spurgeon had 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) in 79 games last season with 149 shots on net, 179 blocks, and a plus-32 rating. Daemon Hunt has been sent to the minors to accommodate Spurgeon's return.
