Jared Goff's Contract Has Been Restructured
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams saved approximately $7 million off the salary cap on Friday by successfully restructuring quarterback Jared Goff's contract. The move was considered a given throughout the offseason, though the timing was a little surprising since the team allowed Goff's massive $21 million roster bonus to credit before completing the move. The savings will free up enough to take care of the free-agent signings of Leonard Floyd and A'Shawn Robinson for now, but LA is still riding close to the cap. They may have to work on restructuring star defensive lineman Aaron Donald's contract to create more space in the near future. After losing running back Todd Gurley and regressing in 2019, Goff will be a midrange QB2 fantasy target in fall drafts.
