The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Jamie Drysdale in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks. The Flyers gave up prospect Cutter Gauthier and also received a 2025 second-round draft pick in the deal. Gauthier has just starred in the World Juniors, leading the U.S. to gold and being voted the tournament's best forward. Drysdale was the sixth pick in the 2020 draft by Anaheim. He showed some early promise in his NHL career, but injuries have hampered his development in recent seasons. The 21-year-old has seen action just 10 times this season, recording five points (one goal, four assists). Drysdale appears highly rated by Philadelphia and should have a better time at his new club. He'll be a top-four regular, and Flyers head coach John Tortorella has already announced that Drysdale will also head straight onto one of the power-play units.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
