Jameson Taillon Strikes Out Season-High 10 Batters In Win
6 months agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon pitched seven innings of one-run ball in Saturday's 8-1 victory over the Mets. The 32-year-old allowed just one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out a season-high 10 batters, picking up his fourth win of the season. It was the veteran's third straight quality start, lowering his ERA to 2.90 (3.82 FIP, 4.29 SIERA) with a 1.27 WHIP and 12.8 K-BB% on the season. We'll see how long he can keep it up as the righty owns a 3.93 career ERA, but it seems limiting the long ball has been key to his success this season as he currently sports a career-low 8.6% HR/FB%, down from 13.4% last season. Taillon will face the Giants on the road next Thursday in his next turn through the rotation.
