Jamal Adams Expects Extension From Jets
5 years agoNew York Jets safety Jamal Adams expects to reach a contract extension with the team this offseason, and the Jets and his representation are in the early stages of talks. The All-Pro safety is optimistic that a deal will get done this offseason. Adams was a first-team All-Pro for the first time in 2019 and made his second straight Pro Bowl. He is set to earn $3.5 million in 2020, which is far below what the top safeties in the league get paid. Adams recorded 6.5 sacks last season and wants to remain with the team for the long haul despite the fact that they tried to trade him at last year's deadline. The sixth overall pick in 2017 is definitely one of the best young safeties in the game and is also great against the run.
