Jakobi Meyers Could Cash In On Open Market
2 years agoNew England Patriots impending free-agent wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is on the cusp of a life-changing payday when free agency opens on March 15. New England's results have been uneven in recent years in signing players to second deals. The 26-year-old Meyers outshined former first-rounder N'Keal Harry and all of the team's other draft picks from 2019. "The wide receiver market has absolutely exploded. I think he's going to do well," ESPN front-office insider Mike Tannenbaum said. Jaguars wideouts Christian Kirk's four-year, $72 million deal ($37 million guaranteed) might project as a close range for Meyers' eventual payday this offseason. Meyers finished 2022 on a three-game touchdown streak and caught 67 passes for 804 yards and six TDs in total. Moving out of New England might be best for his fantasy ceiling, but we'll have to wait and see how his market shakes out.
